Steelclaw was abandon by his parents when they sold him into slavery as a little sparkling. At first, he was meant to become a pleasure mech in a brothel, but instead he was sent the the ludus to be train as a gladiator. He never got loving attention from anybody, so he became this narcissistic show off to gain popularity among the gladtior ranks. He quite popular at his time and even earn a lot praise from the crowd. He was known to for his impalpable battle strategy to win every battle in the arena, and was also known to slept with a lot of femmes as well. He often compliments himself for his good looks, and never leaves a scratch on his paint job...however he has gain some unwanted attention and that put him in danger. He been abused by the upper caste owners, thus steelclaw reputation fell dramatically and even worsen when he got his aft kick by a femme. He could not take it anymore, and tries to escape many times. After Megatron became champion he was awe and jealous by his popularity and power. Eventually he escape the ludus during the start of the war, and join the decepticons. Knowing he would be stronger and popular among the ranks.
